Wine to be tasted.
On the porch; At The Porch.
It goes without saying, delicious food, great company and devine wine selections make for an afternoon of laughter, a spectacular evening and memories to last a life-time. The Porch Restaurant, a small intimate space, has been exploring wine alongside many guests at their wine tasting events. These events are ticketed, limited, and sought-after.
Most recently, The Porch Restaurant featured Argentinian wine; Including complimentary light bites, ready to be paired up with each offering. The selection consisted of Zuccardi Q Chardonnay, Zuccardi Torrontes Series A, Zuccardi Q Cabernet Franc and Zuccardi Q Malbec. With another sold-out event, there were three things the restaurant set out to accomplish: provide a great selection of wine, provide incredible pairings to accompany each wine and to have each guest enjoy themselves to the fullest. Each glass, plump, and above average.Served and delivered leisurely to allow our guests to mingle and enjoy the beauty Florida has to offer - with the soft sound of Nora Jones in the background. Set out to impress, the kitchen was ready to curate four separate appetizers to follow each glass; according to our crowd - it was a great success.
First, the Zuccardi Q Chardonnay served with Baked pear, cinnamon, and honey, rested over freshly cut crostinis, served with gorgonzola and a gorgonzola fondue. Next, the Zuccardi Q Cabernet Franc paired with a simple, grilled chicken, avocado, feta, candied pecan and squash filled salad - an easily paired dish to transition onward to the malbec. Now, the Zuccardi Q Malbec was one of the favorites of this event - holding the 2nd best. This wine was poured with a plate of steak bites, fanned over crostinis, with a delicious chimichurri sauce to really give it a punch of flavor, soon to be broken down by the grace of this incredibly creamy, dramatic malbec. Lastly, the absolute crowd pleaser; The Zuccardi Torrontes Series A, accompanied by a dusted lemon meringue tart with a curled and candied lemon peel - chosen to pair with a wine, not typically served with dessert. This pairing pulled all the best citrus and sweetness from the tart, making this pairing pleasantly surprising.
